The Name

Naseby was first called Parker’s after two brothers who were in a party of four miners who discovered gold here in 1863. For a time it was known as Hogburn, Vincent and then Mount Ida until 1874 when it was officially given its present name.

Activities

The options for things to do in and around Naseby is almost endless. Head off into the forest biking on one of the 52km of tracks, or take a walk to check out the mining claims. Then try your hand at curling, Bring your golf clubs, tennis rackets, togs for all the usual holiday activities, or you can choose to just enjoy the peace and quiet and do nothing.
